Autism Arena is a non-profit community interest company (company number 15440227) that relies on funding to help parent carers of autistic children navigate health & social care, education and leisure.
Our project aims are to:
- provide flexible opportunities for parent carers of autistic children to interact with peers who are facing similar challenges; so reducing the isolation and loneliness that can directly and indirectly result from caring for an autistic child; as the parent carer becomes part of a community.
- By understanding a child/ young person’s needs better adjustments can be put in place to improve their environment at home; school and in leisure activities.
- Parent carers will be educated about the reasons behind the behaviours their child displays; so that they can make adjustments at the earliest possible stage and help them reach their potential.
- Meeting a child/young person’s sensory and safety needs can be extremely costly as different support aids are required. We will be able to advise on government benefits; charitable aid; utility bill and shop discounts that are available.
